John Geary established J.V. Geary Solicitors after working in a number of leading Dublin solicitor firms over the past decade. J.V. Geary Solicitor’s main objective is to defend the rights of individuals and provide a full legal service at a price clients can afford - with an emphasis on efficiency, courtesy and client satisfaction.

John Geary started his legal career with Matheson Ormsby Prentice – one of Dublin’s top five law firms - firstly as an apprentice and later as a solicitor in their Private Client department. Since then he has gained invaluable experience working as a solicitor with Margetson & Greene, Simon McAleese Solicitors; Walsh Warren; McMahon O’Brien Downes and D.J. Synnott Solicitors on St. Stephen’s Green.

John has wide-ranging experience in the field of litigation including large-scale litigation cases acting for both Plaintiffs and Defendants. He has a particular interest in advising clients in a proactive way by working closely with each client's particular needs.

John acts on behalf of individuals for house purchases, sales and remortgages as well as commercial leases for private clients and companies. He places particular emphasis on using his considerable experience toprovide a high level of professional legal service with client care a priority.

He is an elected Council member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association Executive (DSBA) 2008-to date. This is a representative body for the 4,000- plus solicitors in Dublin. He is a former Chairman of the DSBA Litigation, Employment, PIAB, Immigration and Human Rights Committee (2008/09).

John is the current editor of "The Parchment" - the quarterly magazine of the DSBA (January 2009-to date).

He was appointed to the Professional Conduct Committee of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland in 2009.

John was nominated by the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in October 2010 to the new board of Inland Fisheries Ireland.
